1. Media Relations & Editorial Access

  • Journalists can request expert commentary, data, or insights by using Morningstar’s media request form or calling their international media relations hotlines.

  • Morningstar provides customized investment datasets for credentialed media, such as fund flows, returns, holdings, launches, closings, ESG data, and more.

  • When using Morningstar data in editorial content, articles must include a citation like: “according to Morningstar Direct.”

2. Press Release Publishing & Media Resources

  • Morningstar regularly publishes press releases—such as updates on quarterly financial results—with downloadable PDF formats available on their Newsroom.

  • Their Newsroom also offers additional media resources, including one-sheets, FAQs, methodology documents, whitepapers, and expert materials.

3. Artwork & Data Licensing Guidelines

  • Usage of Morningstar’s proprietary data, statistics, imagery, or artwork requires review and adherence to their guidelines, including proper disclosure language.

  • While prior written approval is not always mandatory, Morningstar may later request revisions to ensure compliance.

  • All publications using Morningstar materials must include a disclaimer such as:
